Richard A. Redondo
Research and Programs Manager Arizona Community Health Workers Association
Richard A. Redondo is a proud Yuma native with a lifelong dedication to public health. His journey began at just eight years old, when he was diagnosed with asthma and recruited by a community-based tobacco prevention program to serve as a peer promotor/Community Health Worker (CHW). In this early role, he provided asthma education to his fellow elementary school students—marking the start of his career in community health.
Richard earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Medical Sciences with a minor in Public Health from the University of Arizona. He has contributed to research efforts in collaboration with Harvard University, supporting an asthma research initiative aimed at improving outcomes for underserved communities.
Currently, Richard serves as the Research and Programs Manager at the Arizona Community Health Workers Association. In this role, he has developed a wide range of educational materials and trainings’ on key public health topics, including COVID-19, cardiovascular disease, mental health, diabetes, and cancer. His work reflects a deep commitment to health education, equity, and advocacy.
Looking ahead, Richard plans to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Arizona, with the ultimate goal of becoming a PhD researcher focused on advancing public health and immunology.
