The mission of the Ginny L. Clements Breast Cancer Research Institute is to change the lives of patients with breast cancer through transformational research. Housed within the University of Arizona Cancer Center – the only National Cancer Institute Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center headquartered in the state of Arizona – the Ginny L. Clements Breast Cancer Research Institute will leverage the Cancer Center’s outstanding and distinctive programs in research, patient care, and community outreach, both within Arizona and nationwide.

Inaugural Ginny L. Clements Breast Cancer Research Institute Symposium

This May 5, the University of Arizona Cancer Center will host the inaugural Ginny L. Clements Breast Cancer Research Institute Symposium. The symposium will feature keynote speaker, Patricia Lorusso, DO, Professor of Medicine, Clinical Oncology; Chief Experimental Therapeutics; and Associate Cancer Center Director of Experimental Therapeutics at the Yale School of Medicine.

Research at the GLCBCRI will add to the depth and breadth of the breast cancer-related work already in progress at the UACC by focusing on novel discoveries and innovative clinical trials that will test new ways to diagnose and treat breast cancer. The research goals, priorities, and direction of the GLCBCRI will be developed further upon the hiring of its inaugural Director, with the goal of building upon existing and establishing new partnerships across the UA campus and beyond.
