University of Arizona Cancer Center researchers, led by Dr. Dan Theodorescu, will investigate how Y chromosome loss affects bladder cancer, supported by a $6.5 million, seven-year grant from the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Theodorescu received the NCI Outstanding Investigator Award to pursue innovative, high-risk cancer research.

New imaging tech promises to help doctors better diagnose and treat skin cancers

A University of Arizona team will receive up to $2.7 million from the NIH to develop advanced non-invasive imaging technologies. Led by Florian Willomitzer and Dr. Clara Curiel-Lewandrowski, the team is one of four nationwide selected for the initiative aimed at improving deep, clear imaging inside the body.
