Peer-to-peer support groups are facilitated by social workers through our clinical partnership with Banner Health and are designed to provide an opportunity to connect with individuals who are experiencing similar cancer-related life concerns, and to share joys and accomplishments along the way.
The cancer center has a robust community outreach and engagement program led by public health experts. The team organizes events throughout Arizona aimed at improving public knowledge about prevention strategies and helping connect patients with resources.
Educational opportunities for researchers and clinicians
One of the cancer center's missions is to help educate the next generation of oncologists and researchers. The center also provides continuing educational opportunities for life-long learners in the space of cancer research and care.
The center coordinates regular meetings for clinicians treating patients to discuss strategies and clinical trials. These include tumor boards and clinical research teams organized by cancer type and doctor specialties.
