Swarna Ganesh, PhD

Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering Member of the Graduate Faculty

Dr. Swarna Ganesh earned her Ph.D. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University, with a focus on nano oncology. As a CIHR postdoctoral fellow, she developed a liquid biopsy-based cancer diagnostic platform integrating Raman microscopy and ultrasensitive nanomaterials. Now an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona, Dr. Ganesh leads research on multifunctional nanoplatforms that unify diagnostics, targeted delivery, and tumor immune microenvironment modeling. Her work bridges computational design and physical nanomaterial synthesis to accelerate translational cancer solutions. She is committed to developing modular technologies that improve detection, therapeutic response, and mechanistic understanding across cancer types
