Brian Hummell
Arizona Director, Government Relations at American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network
Brian Hummell is the Arizona and New Mexico Director of Government Relations for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. In his 12th year with ACS CAN, Brian has led and built coalitions to achieve significant legislative success for Arizona’s and New Mexico’s cancer community, including Medicaid expansion in Arizona in 2013. Brian has also led or been a part of coalitions responsible for a number of other access to care wins for patients at the state level including Biomarker Testing Coverage legislation in both states. Additionally, Brian has provided technical assistance tobacco regulation campaigns at the local level in Arizona. In 2014, Brian received both the ACS CAN National Advocacy Leadership Award and the C-Change President’s Award. In 2017 he was the recipient of the Prevent Cancer Foundation Laureate Award for Advocacy.
