Russell S Witte, PhD

Clinical and Translational Oncology Program

Biography

Russell S. Witte, PhD graduated with Honors in Physics from the University of Arizona (1993) and Bioengineering from Arizona State University (PhD, 2002), followed by 5 years at University of Michigan developing new imaging tools. In 2007, he returned to Tucson to establish the Experimental Ultrasound and Neural Imaging Laboratory, which develops ground-breaking “hybrid” modalities that integrate light, sound, and electricity for biomedical imaging. The ultimate goal is to improve patient care by providing tools that enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment-decision making. Dr. Witte recently founded ElectroSonix™, a local spinoff company, to commercialize acoustoelectric technology for fast imaging of arrhythmias.
