Maria C. Bishop, MD, FACP
Dr. Bishop is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a medical degree from the University of Arizona, where she also completed her residency and fellowship programs. Dr. Bishop teaches at the pre- and post-doctoral levels. She is a Faculty Mentor for the Societies Program.
Dr. Bishop is a Fellow in the American Association for Cancer Education Academy and American College of Physicians. She is also Editor in Chief of the Journal of Cancer Education.
Cancer Focus
Dr. Bishop is a medical oncologist and chair of the ethics committee at the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System (SAVAHCS). She is a member of the Hematology/Oncology Section at SAVAHCS. Dr. Bishop is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology as well as Hospice and Palliative Care. Her clinical specialties include neuro-oncology and end-of-life care.
