Associate Professor, Biomedical Engineering
Biography
Ali Bilgin received the B.S. degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering from Istanbul Technical University, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from San Diego State University, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona, He is currently an Associate Professor with the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Medical Imaging at the University of Arizona. He has authored or co-authored over 250 research papers in international journals and conferences, and holds thirteen granted patents. His current research interests include signal and image processing, image and video coding, data compression, and magnetic resonance imaging.
Cancer Focus
My research group develops novel signal and image processing and imaging methods. One of the goals of my research group is to develop quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques. Over the past decade, our focus has been on accelerating MRI through novel pulse sequences and image reconstruction techniques.
