Community Outreach and Engagement CAPP grant application open until Feb. 16
Researchers and their non-profit partners who address cancer-related health equity for underrepresented people can now apply for the Community & Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) grant through the University of Arizona Cancer Center Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (UACC COE).
“The CAPP Grant has been COE’s signature grant funding mechanism to encourage and support the development of sustainable collaborations between the academic and scientific communities at the UACC and communities across Arizona,” said Monica Yellowhair, PhD, COE interim associate director.
The mission of the CAPP is to work collaboratively with Arizona communities as partners with the UACC to create a cancer free Arizona through grant making, training/technical assistance and scientific input.
Letters of Intent for the grant, which totals $100,000 over two years, are due by February 16, 2024.
The CAPP highly encourages proposals that address cancer related health disparities and increase equity for communities in Southern Arizona that have been historically disadvantaged or marginalized.
Also encouraged to apply are:
• Individuals affiliated with 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations (e.g., community groups/organizations, schools, health/medical clinics, Tribes)
• Tribal agencies
• Urban tribal programs
• Tribal non-profit organizations
• Other non-profit organizations serving American Indian/AN people within the state of Arizona.
