UACC Director Attends Whitehouse Holiday Party

University of Arizona Cancer Center(UACC) Director, Dr. Joann Sweasy, attended a White House Holiday Party on December 21. Sweasy enjoyed conversation with Reuben Mesa, the incoming director of the Wake Forest Comprehensive Cancer Center; Robb Winn, director of the Massey Cancer Center; Anil Rustgi, director of the Herbert Irving Cancer Center at Columbia University; Ned Sharpless, former National Cancer Institute (NCI) director; and Douglas Lowy, Principal Deputy Director of the NCI, who has also served as acting director of the NCI several times.

"I was honored to be invited to attend such a prestigious event," Sweasy said. "I think that along with Dr. Jill Biden's visit with us last Spring, this is another great indication that the fine research we're doing here at UACC is being noticed nationally."
