Elizabeth T Jacobs, PhD

Professor, Epidemiology and Biostatistics

Dr. Jacobs is a Professor of Epidemiology at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and the University of Arizona Cancer Center. She earned a BS in Biology from Bowling Green State University, an MS in Nutrition from Purdue University, and a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Arizona. 

Cancer Focus

Dr. Jacobs is a cancer and chronic disease epidemiologist at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and the University of Arizona Cancer Center. Her primary research areas are genetic and environmental risk factors for colorectal cancer within the setting of cohort studies. Dr. Jacobs is currently Principal Investigator of an NCI-funded R01 grant, the goal of which is to investigate the genetic and lifestyle factors that modify the effect of selenium supplementation on the development of early neoplastic lesions.
