Jennifer Segar, MD
Biography
Dr. Segar completed her medical school at Ross University in 2012 and completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at the University of Arizona. Dr. Segar is an Assistant Professor on staff at the University of Arizona Cancer Center. She specializes in breast cancer and sees patients to assist in treatment decisions regarding chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and targeted treatments.
She also partakes in Breast Cancer clinical research and is part of the Phase 1 clinical trials team involved in bringing patients novel therapeutic options.
Cancer Focus
Dr. Segar’s primary clinical and research focus is in breast cancer. In addition to seeing patients in clinic, she is very involved in research and has several ongoing projects. Her key interests including studying the HR+ breast cancer tumor microenvironment and the role of the immune system. In addition, she is interested in improving prevention and management of toxicities related to therapies administered to treat breast cancer and side effects from the cancer itself. Finally, with her involvement in Phase 1 clinical trials, she is involved in new drug development.
