Basic Clinical Partnerships
The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) Support Grant provides funds for collaborative translational research pilot projects. Of particular interest are projects focused on:
- the development of translational cancer therapies that may lead to preliminary data with a clinical endpoint
- correlative biomarker studies of prospective or of completed cancer therapy clinical trials
- elucidating the basic science underpinnings of a clinically relevant oncologic problem.
Priority is given to those applications with a clear pathway to grant submissions to external sponsors, or the development of an investigator-initiated clinical trial based upon UACC science.
Applications must include partnerships between one basic science faculty member and one clinical sciences faculty member. Faculty at any level can apply for funds as long as they both are UACC members. Those who are not currently UACC members are encouraged to apply for membership.
Funding will be for $50,000 in direct costs per year for a maximum of two years.
