Heidi Mansour, PhD

Clinical and Translational Oncology Program


Dr. Mansour is an Associate Professor (Tenured) of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy with joint faculty appointments in the BIO5 Research Institute and the College of Medicine in the Division of Translational and Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Mansour serves as Director of the Pharm.D./Ph.D. Dual-Degree Program and Director of the Pharmaceutics/Pharmacokinetics track in the Pharmaceutical Sciences graduate program in The UA College of Pharmacy. She was awarded the UNC-Chapel Hill Postdoctoral Award for Research Excellence from the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, the AAPS Postdoctoral Fellow Award in Research Excellence, and the PhRMA Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship award.

Cancer Focus

I am Co-I and Core Leader (Drug Development Core) on the PPG NIH NCI PPG 1P01CA229112 "Targeted Prevention for Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer" led by Dr. Clara Curiel. Previously, I was co-I and faculty mentor on a NIH NCI CNTC (Cancer Nanotechnology Training Center). I have published on 3-D multicellular spheroids, multifunctional anticancer nanotherapeutic delivery systems, PEGylated "Stealth" nanoparticles for targeted lung cancer chemotherapy, sustained-release microparticle/nanoparticle delivery systems for lung cancer, magnetic nanoparticles for anticancer hyperthermia, multi-drug resistance (MDR) breast cancer, and neuroendocrine cancers.I currently have both funded research collaborations and patents on inventions. My labs are GLP-certified which has status with the FDA.
